Elves, Ice Skating, and Santa.. Oh My!

I am WAY behind on blogging! Christmas is always a whirlwind around our house and it certainly caught up with my blogging this year. I’m going to try my hardest to get all caught up ASAP! :)

We always try to keep the kids immersed in Christmas activities and this year was full of them! We started out with Snowy Nights at My Big Backyard, then made our way over to the zoo and even more! One tradition that we always enjoy is “Elf On The Shelf”. Ever since our elves arrived on December 1st, it was crazy around here! Those little elves are quite mischievous! ;) They found them selves in many tricky situations this year, like tp’ing the Christmas tree, baking cookies, snacking in the fridge, playing with other toys, etc. However, the crowd favorite around our house was the kayak situation! SOMEHOW the elves made it all thee way out to the shed in the backyard, brought the kayak in, and “kayaked” the living room! The kiddos thought that it was hilarious!!!! Props to Daddy on that one! ;)

We also did several Christmas activities, including the felt Christmas tree that was all over Pinterest! The kiddos’ ornaments were precious. But, I couldn’t get it to stay on the wall!! Oh well! Cute, none the less! :)

One of our favorite traditions is to go to Zoo Lights! Every year we make sure to attend Zoo Lights and Starry Nights. Usually we go see Santa at the Enchanted Forest, but this year we went to Snowy Nights instead! All were super fun! Since we didn’t go to Enchanted Forest this year, we made sure that we stopped in to see Santa at Zoo Lights. He was such a sweet Santa! (please excuse the terrible photos.. the lighting was atrocious and they wouldn’t let me use flash!!)

We were a little worried about how Gray would react to Santa. We just knew that he was going to hate him! And guess what….

He DID!!! Look at LK and E’s faces. They look so embarrassed! ha! We took a quick pic with Gray and then let LK and E have their turns to talk to Santa.

Our 2012 Christmas picture! Absolutely PERFECT! ;)

After meeting Santa, we headed over to the ferris wheel. LK, E, and Daddy took a few spins. E loved it! LK.. not so much! It was very pretty though and a great add to Zoo Lights!

I just had to include a few pics of Gray. He is such a little ham!!!
